Upgrade

Upgrading​

  1. Copy the contents of modules/ to your WHMCS modules/ folder.
  2. IMPORTANT: Go to Setup > Addon Modules > Pingen and save the configuration.

Some new configuration options might have been added, so please take the time to review them.

Upgrading from v5.x​

WHMCS v9 does not support Pingen 5.x, and WHMCS v8 does not support Pingen 6.x. Therefor, we recommend following the following upgrade procedure to avoid problems.

Automatic upgrade with WHMCS wizard​

  1. Remove the modules/addons/pingen folder - but do not deactivate the addon!
  2. Upgrade WHMCS
  3. Upload Pingen v6 to modules/addons/pingen
  4. Go to Setup > Addon Modules > Pingen and save the configuration

Manual upgrade​

  1. Upload the WHMCS v9 files
  2. Upload the Pingen v6 module
  3. Then proceed to open your WHMCS admin area and continue with the upgrade procedure

Upgrading from v4.x or older​

Version 5 supports the new Pingen API, which requires creating new accounts at Pingen.

Upgrading your Pingen account​

  • Please follow the instructions in the Pingen Account Configuration page to get your new credentials and update the module settings accordingly
  • Contact Pingen support to have your credits migrated from your old Pingen Classic account to your new Pingen account

Things to be aware of​

  • No data will be carried over from the old to the new Pingen account – you start from scratch
  • Printed envelopes are no longer supported by Pingen
  • The Calculator utility will be available again in a future release
