Uninstall

Removing Pingen Post is deliberately a two-part decision: switching it off, and throwing its data away. Deactivating the addon does the first and never the second.

1. Stop sending

Set Sending Mode to Manual on Settings → Delivery, and turn off Enable Client Area on Settings → General if you had it on. Nothing further will be posted, and clients stop seeing the delivery page, while everything you have sent stays visible.

If that is all you wanted, stop here.

2. (Optional) Remove Pingen Post's data

If you want the data gone, do it before removing the files — it's an action inside the module.

On Settings → Advanced, in the Danger Zone, click Remove all data…, type DELETE to confirm, and confirm. (Export the settings first under Backup & Restore on the same sub-tab if you might want them back.)

Alternatively, switch on Remove all data when the addon is deactivated there and click Save settings: the tables are then dropped when you deactivate in step 3.

This permanently deletes:

  • API credentials (staging and production) and the license key
  • all settings and restrictions
  • the record of every sent invoice and quote
  • the activity log
There is no undo

Letters already handed to Pingen are unaffected — they live in your Pingen account — but everything WHMCS knew about them is gone. Take a database backup first if there's any doubt.

The addon stays activated afterwards, with a fresh, empty configuration. That is also the way to start over without reinstalling.

3. Deactivate the addon

Go to Setup → Addon Modules and click Deactivate on the Pingen row.

Unless you switched on Remove all data when the addon is deactivated in step 2, deactivation preserves everything: settings, credentials and send history all survive, so reactivating later picks up exactly where you left off.

Different from 6.x

Pingen Post 6.x dropped its database tables on deactivation. 7.0 only does when you have asked it to, in step 2 above.

4. Remove the files

Delete these from the filesystem:

/modules/addons/pingen

If you uploaded the bundled Lagom 2 PDF layout, also switch Invoice PDF and Quote PDF back from Pingen to their previous options under Addons → RS Themes → Pages before removing:

/templates/lagom2/core/pages/invoicepdf/pingen
/templates/lagom2/core/pages/quotepdf/pingen

5. (Optional) Clean up the storage directory

If you configured a custom storage path, it may still hold temporary PDF files. These are not removed automatically. If you don't plan to reinstall, delete that directory too for a clean state.

Reinstalling later

Reinstalling over preserved data picks up where you left off. If you removed the data first, you start fresh: import a settings file exported under Settings → Advanced, or re-enter your Pingen API credentials (Pingen Account Configuration) and re-apply your letter defaults, triggers and restrictions as described in Configuration.
