Version: 7.0

Release notes — 7.0

Pingen Post 7.0 rebuilds the addon on a shared core that also powers Pingen Post for Blesta. The Pingen Post features you know are all still here, but the admin interface is new and a few behaviours were corrected on the way. This page covers what changed and what to check after upgrading. For the step-by-step procedure see Upgrade; for the running list of fixes see the Changelog.

What's new in 7.0

A single, modern admin interface. 6.x spread its work across eight admin tabs and kept its settings on WHMCS's own addon-configuration screen. 7.0 puts everything in one place — settings included. See Configuration.

The Mailroom. The old Letters tab is now Mailroom.

An activity log. Pingen Post keeps its own log of what it did and why — every send, skip, and API failure, with the invoice it relates to. It is filterable by level, searchable, and pruned daily according to a retention you set. Previously the only trace was a line in the WHMCS activity log. See Troubleshooting → Reading the logs.

Deactivation no longer destroys anything. In 6.x, deactivating the addon dropped its database tables. In 7.0 deactivation preserves everything, and removing your data is a deliberate choice under Settings → Advanced → Danger Zone — a type-to-confirm action, or a switch that has deactivation remove it. See Uninstall.

Lower PHP and ionCube floors. 6.x needed PHP 8.3 and ionCube 14; 7.0 runs on PHP 8.2+ with ionCube 13+. WHMCS 9 is still required. See Requirements.

Embedded documentation. The Help tab shows this documentation inside the admin area.

Behaviour changes to know about

The addon configuration page is nearly empty

Settings moved into the module, so Setup → Addon Modules → Configure now carries only Access Control and a button into the interface. Everything else is under the module's own Settings tab.

After upgrading, check

  1. Overview — the module version and a green license status.
  2. Settings → Account — the environment and credentials came across, and are the ones you expect.
  3. Settings → Delivery — sending mode and trigger
  4. Settings → General — the storage path is reported as writable, and pick a log retention.
  5. Integrations — BestPDF and Billing Booster show as detected, if you run them.
