Quick start
A five-minute walkthrough — once Billing Booster is installed and the license key is set, this is the fastest path from zero to a payment code on your invoices.
If you haven't installed Billing Booster yet, start with Installation.
1. Open Billing Booster
In the WHMCS admin area, go to Addons → Billing Booster. You land on the Overview tab, which shows your license status, the features your license includes, and how many configurations you have of each type (all zero on a fresh install).
2. Create a payment code
Open Settings and choose the Payment Codes sub-tab. Click Add Payment Code.
- Choose a standard — pick the one that matches your bank account, e.g. EPC (SEPA) for a Euro IBAN, or SwissQR for a Swiss/Liechtenstein account.
- Name it — something like
Main account— and click create. The editor opens.
3. Fill in your account details
On the Account Details tab of the editor, enter the bank details the code will pay into:
- EPC / SPAYD / HUB3 — recipient name, IBAN, and BIC.
- SwissQR — your CHF IBAN (or QR-IBAN), plus your company address on the Company Details tab.
Leave the Settings, Layout, and Conditions tabs at their defaults for now — the defaults already target the right currencies and countries for the standard you picked.
Click Save and toggle the configuration Enabled.
4. Point WHMCS at the code
Two one-time steps, without which the code has nowhere to go:
- PDF invoices — if you use BestPDF, add its Payment Code component to your design and you're done. Otherwise switch your Template under Setup → General Settings → General to the
billboost-variant of your current theme. - Emails — go to Setup → Email Templates → Invoice, open Invoice Created, and add the
{$paycode}tag where the code should appear.
The client-area invoice page needs nothing: Billing Booster puts the code there by itself.
Both steps are covered in more detail in Installation.
5. Generate an invoice
Create or open any invoice that matches the code's conditions (right currency and client country). Billing Booster injects the payment code automatically:
- Into the PDF invoice.
- Into invoice emails, wherever you placed
{$paycode}. - Onto the client-area invoice page, with no configuration at all.
- Onto the payment page, if you installed the Payment Code gateway.
That's it — your customers can now scan the code to pay.
Where to go from here
- Payment Codes — every standard, layout option, and conditional rule documented in detail.
- E-Invoicing — several standards supported.
- Statement Processing — read bank statements and match payments to invoices, uploaded by hand or downloaded automatically from your bank.
- Integrations — position codes precisely with BestPDF, or send QR-bills by post with Pingen Post.
Common next steps
- Restrict a code to specific currencies, countries, or payment gateways (Payment Codes → Conditions).
- Place the code exactly where you want it on the page using BestPDF.
- Turn on Statement Processing so paid invoices are reconciled automatically.
