Text

ContentOverlayInvoiceQuote

A plain text block with merge-field support. Use it for short, single-styled pieces of text — a greeting line, a section heading, a footer note. For anything that needs inline formatting (bold runs, lists, tables, multiple fonts), use HTML Text instead.

Components - Text

Content tab

Type the text directly into the textarea. Two dropdowns above the textarea let you insert dynamic values:

  • + Merge Field (blue) — invoice, client, and company fields (e.g. {{ client.firstname }}).
  • + Translation (green) — built-in or custom strings from the Translations tab (e.g. {{ lang.footer_disclaimer }}).

Picking from either dropdown inserts the correct syntax at the cursor position.

The textarea accepts the full Twig syntax — variables, {% if %}, {% for %}, filters. See Concepts → Merge fields & Twig for the full reference.

Style tab

Pick a typography style from the dropdown. The component renders all of its text in that style.

See Concepts → Styles for the selector pattern, and the Designs → Styles tab for the available fields on a typography style.

Layout tab

  • Overlay — Position (X/Y in mm) plus a Width mode: Edge to edge, Full width or Custom. See Concepts → Positioning.
  • Content — Offset (X/Y nudges from where the text would naturally land in the flow) plus an optional Width in mm. Left blank, the text uses the full content width.

The width is what decides where a long line wraps and where the next one resumes, so it is worth setting on any overlay text that runs to more than one line.

Visibility tab

Display rules, link visibility, and conditions — see Concepts → Visibility & conditions.

Tips

  • For a multi-line block of text, just press Enter — newlines are preserved on render.
  • If you need to switch between several fonts or styles inside one block, use HTML Text instead.
  • Translation keys you reference here (e.g. lang.footer_disclaimer) should be defined in every language you support, otherwise non-English PDFs will print the literal key.
